We were deeply involved throughout the renovation — a true hands-on experience. In this video, you can discover more about our Greek adventure.
Once the renovation was complete, the real fun began: designing the interiors, adding artistic touches, exploring the island, and welcoming guests.
Here are some wonderful reviews from guests who stayed at the Blue Daisy House over the past three years.

We had a wonderful stay at Blue Daisy House. The house is in a wonderful location in a quiet village, but not far from services, and beautiful beach, and lunch locations. The house itself is a great reminder of restoration and renovation. Amazing job to our wonderful hosts! We hope to be back again in the not-too-distant future. Thanks for letting us be part of your home.

An authentic, beautiful, and romantic house in a perfect location at the center of the island. It’s a joy to be in the house itself, and there’s so much to see all around. We were a family of five, and it was comfortable for everyone. We enjoyed the wood oven, the plunge pool, the lovely courtyard, and morning coffee on the terrace facing a stunning view. Uri and Aliza restored and renovated this old house and turned it into a beautiful gem—comfortable, well-equipped, and full of charming details in every corner. The surroundings are peaceful, and there are views in every direction. You can take lovely walks in the area or drive anywhere on the island (we made great use of the tours suggested by Aliza and Uri on their website). Highly recommended!

So pretty, you can hear goat bells in the distance, and there are many sweet cats. The house was very unique because it was a traditional home all the way to the cold plunge and pizza oven!

Wow - what can we say! We had the most amazing week at Uri and Aliza's unique place in rural Crete. We enjoyed avoiding the tourists and experiencing their restored 200-year-old house - their outdoor traditional pizza oven is class! Their home is perfectly located to explore the culture and traditions of the island, with a rental car, we made it from Chania in the east to Spinalonga in the West... and everywhere in between. We visited historical monasteries, learned about bees and honey making, visited olive groves, did some gorge walking, saw amazing potters at work in a local village, and visited local restaurants and beaches. Truly an amazing experience. We highly recommend - five stars from us!

A beautiful house, tastefully renovated with all modern amenities while preserving its authentic charm. We had a very relaxing week; the area is full of interesting places, the beaches are nearby, and Crete and its people are wonderfully welcoming. We’d be happy to come back.

Blue Daisy House is located in a small pastoral village, surrounded by stunning, green views. The house is very authentic, well-equipped, comfortable, and beautiful. Perfect for those who like the rustic style. We enjoyed a week at the house and enjoyed some activities that were recommended by the owner. We definitely plan to come back as soon as possible!

The house restored with great care and taste makes the stay special and welcoming. Located in a rural enclave and away from the tourist masses, it is also a stone's throw from beaches and fishing villages where you can dine on good fish watching the sunset. Its geographical location is also very good as it is in the northern half of the island halfway between the two largest cities in the north of the island. The house is even nicer than you can see in the photos, it is very practical and has everything you could need in a week. Communication with Uri has been very fast and good.June, 2025 | Home exchange

Our stay at the Blue Daisy House was so enjoyable. It's a very charming and beautiful home that has been restored and rebuilt with local stone, salvaged wooad, and a lot of love and care, as well as modern conveniences. We loved the surroundings as well: olive groves, scenic cliffs and valleys. This is off the beaten tourist track and yet there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. (though it's important to have a car.) I would very happily come back to this magical place.

Everything went smoothly. We had great communication with Blue Daisy House housekeeper, who recommended us a lot of great places in the area. The house itself is very charming and has everything you need for a good holiday. It's truly impressive how beautifully they managed to restore it. It's a perfect place for a slow holiday, with lots of very local places (great bakeries, restaurants, cafes, olive oil factories) within driving distance. It was nice to explore more local, real side of Crete, away from all the very busy tourist areas :) We definitely enjoyed that experience!

Uri and Aliza's house is an authentic gem in the heart of Crete. The recovery work of this structure is simply wonderful and it was possible thanks to the great culture and sensitivity of these new friends with whom we had the opportunity to spend a nice evening and whom we hope to meet again as soon as possible

We had a lovely stay at URI’s countryside house in Crete. There are many nice small villages to explore nearby and not far to go to the beach by car. The house is well equipped and there is a terrace where you can have your meals. URI is easy to communicate with he and his wife who is an artist are trustworthy and gentle persons.

We enjoyed a magical week in Uri's lovingly restored home in the countryside of Crete. The house itself was a true piece of art--the perfect mix of creative, historic, and homey. We loved the opportunity to stay in a less-touristy area of the island and had a great time exploring the surrounding towns while being an easy drive from major sites. We found the space to be perfect for our family of five--big enough to cook meals and play games on the porch.
Uri was a lovely exchange partner--very organized and communicative. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to spend time on Crete!

We really enjoyed our exchange at Uri & Aliza‘s house , in a very small village, Where they have created a peaceful retreat to the hustle & bustle of the Island.. Although its just 30 mins away from the beach & city. We loved the creative use of re-using materials that have had a previous life, along with the art work that is throughout the House..
We did some hiking in the area, exploring some of the ancient History, and local villages. Explored different beaches and The Local food.
But, we also spent a lot of time just relaxing in the Garden. Listening to the sound of almost silence,
We would definitely recommend staying here. If you want to enjoy a peaceful rural setting, but with the sound & energy of the city , very reachable.

Our stay at Uri and Aliza’s house was delightful!
The house itself, although in a small hamlet, is in a good location to reach the beaches and numerous archaeological sites. Having been faithfully renovated in traditional style using all recycled materials, it has a very homely historical feel.. Aliza’s artistic touch is everywhere and so tastefully done.
The island of Crete has everything from fabulous food, mountains, gorges, a clear sea for swimming, and beaches of all different types. We (four adults) enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and looked forward to coming back to Blue Daisy house at the end of each day, Thank you

We completely enjoyed our quiet week in Kallergos at the Blue Daisy house. Going into the house is a bit like taking a step back in time. The creative commitment of the owners to repurpose and reuse all of the homes materials really shows and creates an atmosphere reminiscent of the “back to the land” movement of the 60’s and 70’s. The community of Kallergos is tiny, and probably boasts of more cats than people as inhabitants, but is close by car to several larger villages and well located for trips to many of the interesting local archeological sites as well as a close trip by car to Rethymno and some popular beaches. We would love to return one day.
